To often then not, I find myself dressing for the opposite sex. However, when that happens, I have to "check" myself.
Some women are comfortable in high heels and tight clothing and  nothing is wrong with that fashion trend... I do it at times, but, if I had it my way, I'd dressed the way I feel everyday. I  tend to dress comfortable without neglecting fashion!!

With that being typed, today's featured thriftable/DIY look is inspired by the word COMFORT. 

This $6.95 dress was a size 2XL. I choose this shirt for two reasons, the size and the pattern. 
​The original plan was to make some shorts, but after much deliberation, I decided to make some pants instead. After, inverting this dress #literally... Using the sleeves for the pant lets and a few alternations, the below image became a reality.

I've always wanted a jacket with leather sleeves. So of course NIFTY THRIFTY found a way to make that happen.
Last weekend, I hit the ground running and went thrifting in Memphis. I snagged two blazers (among other items) at Goodwill for $4.99 a piece which means this jacket cost a grand total of $9.00!

I'M BACK AT IT

I know some of you may be thinking "Finnnnaaaallllllyyyyy"... Am I right? 
Let me be the one to say (or type for that matter) that the feeling is mutual and IT. FEELS. GREAT. to be back.

I've had two fun filled weekends of DIY-ing. 
The FIRST project, I decided to repainted my furniture and the SECOND, I upcycled a dress into a romper. 

I know you didn't visit The Color Tag for painting tips.... so I won't go into the deets about that but I will share my most recent upcylcing project 
&
 Boooyyy or, should I say, GIRRRRLLLL are you in for a treat!!!

 What You'll Need

1. A Thrifted Dress
(or a dress you have fallen out of love with) 

2. Needle and Thread or Sewing Machine

3. Shear Scissors 

4. A pair of shorts your previously own 
(I'll explain later) 

I apologize for not taking a before picture but this dress was meant for a grandma. The dress was ankle length and the exposed front slit was non existent... I'm not sure if brief description helps paint the before picture in your mind but I tried. 

In order to make the shorts, I cut below the elastic band and used a pair of previously owned shorts for the pattern. I traced the shorts, cut it a little bigger than desired because I didn't want them the bottom to be somewhat relaxed feel. 

After sewing the shorts together, I reconnected it to the elastic band. Lastly, I removed the stitching in the upper portion to add a dash of sex appeal.

Bam... the above the was created. 

I have learned from this DIY/Upcycling project to take pictures of each step.
