The Color Tag is thrilled to have Barbara, better known as Bella Estraneo or the Beautiful Stranger, as a guest writer . Her style is unique, trendy, and, most definitely, fashion forward. Not only is she stylish, but she is also the founder of Bella Estraneo. What makes her the best is that she's an avid thrifter. Her fashion blog is filled with trends, helpful tips, personal picks, DIYs, and a dash of beauty. Let's see what she has to say. " Let me start off by saying that history repeats itself, and so does fashion. With that being said, thrifting is a great way to build up a wardrobe. I have been a passionate thrifter for some time now. When I first step foot into a thrift or vintage shop my first instinct is to look for staple pieces and unique items. A staple piece for me could be a great pair of leather trousers, or a unique vintage coat. I enjoy the treasure hunt that is thrifting, because when you stumble upon something you absolutely adore there is a simultaneous feeling of excitement, joy, and accomplishment circulating through the body. I am currently obsessed with the vintage prints and patterns found in thrift stores all over. I love to pair varied prints together to add new dimensions to my looks. Currently, I am obsessed with flirty silhouettes accompanied by single soled pumps, and I love how prints make that POP. My Thrift Tip for The Color Tag readers is to mix prints! The mixing of prints became very popular during the 80s and has managed to transcend to now. It adds intrigue and an interesting aesthetic to classic silhouettes. From a single soled pump to an outrageous blazer and a fit ‘n’ flare skirt. One of my favorite celebrity styles is Solange Knowles. She has a way with prints that comes off so natural and effortless. If you’re afraid of prints, I suggest that you begin with timeless prints like the forever loved polka dot or stripes. These prints are able to act as neutrals or bases to any outfit. You can also find prints that have complimentary hues and tones that can easily be figured out using a basic color wheel. Don’t forget that printed shoes and bags add the same intrigue and variety to an outfit, so during your next trip to the thrift be on the lookout for timeless prints that scream variety, but also represent your personality!
